Performance

Although my performance practice has predominantly featured live video projections in AV performance or nightclub settings, over the last few years I have been returning to music, sound, theatre and physical performance contexts.

My live video performance (or VJing) practice has evolved into a literal embodiment of the orchestral analogy to visual production. I build custom instruments on which notes and samples are played to produce an improvised composition. This involves writing software and building custom graphics machines to play back original digital images and 3D animations. These are then digitally and optically re-combined in real-time, producing a multi-layered visual density consisting of urban habitats and inhabitants; a video concrète, concrete jungle improvisation, moving between noise, sound and music – but for the eyes.
